Comanche is one of the two model horses designed to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of The Little Big Horn, Montana Territory, June 25, 1876...The Rose of the Horse.
Coming from a background of Mustang stock, this horse witnessed the collision of two civilizations. The history of he American West was changed for all times!
To this very day Comanche's remains have been preserved for posterity and are on display at the Museum of Natural History, The University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas.
Comanche was thought to have been born in 1862 and was rounded up by mustangers in present day Oklahoma., shipped to St. Louis and sold as a calvary remount for $90.00. This beautiful model horses stand around 10" tall. He is bay in color with a dorsal stripe, leg stripings, and only one brand and that was a U.S. on his left front shoulder.
